I really enjoyed playing through Hook! Because I don't speak french I had to enlist the help of one of my friends who takes french to help translate some of the game for me lol. It ran great through wine so Linux wasn't a problem (sometimes windows games are super scuffed in wine) Overall it was really fun 9/10
Neat game! Although I can’t read French, I was still able to pick up the game and enjoy it. I love the Nautical theme, it’s very cute! The gameplay was pretty engaging and it was fun to look around for the treasures and solve puzzles.
When I got the actual Hook, I enjoyed the game mechanics with it but I had a hard time controlling it. I’m unsure if it was just my controller. (I was using a PS4 controller and emulating it as a Xbox controller) In the video I recorded, you might be able to see what I’m talking about starting at the 22:00 mark. If the mechanics are working as intended, it would be nice to be able to control the Hook completely with the right stick in a 360 degree angle freely. (If it does, disregard what I just said lol)
Regardless, it was a fun time! I didn’t complete the whole game but from what I played, it was a fun time! (I apologize for my terrible attempt to read French) Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much for your feedback ! The hook is indeed supposed to rotate in 360 angle so it's probably coming from your controller ;). We didn't think the game would get any attention so we published it in French but we're currently working on an English translation.
